Hugo, Okla. (Special)--Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the Coffey Funeral Home here for Miss Mary Louise Childs, 83-year-old retired teacher and text-book author who died at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Paris, Texas, Monday afternoon. The Rev. E. Frank Camp, pastor of First Presbyterian Church officiated and the body was sent to Dallas, Texas for cremation, the ashes to be sent to be placed in the family lot in Jonesville, Mich.

Miss Chiles was born Nov. 13, 1863, in Jonesville where her father, the late Rev. E. P. Childs, served as pastor of the Presbyterian Church 23 years. Miss Childs taught civics in the Evanston, Ill., high school for 30 years and several years at Western College in Oxford, Ohio. She was the author of several text-books.

Following her retirement, she had lived in Pasadena, Calif., since 1930. She had been in ill health for some time, and Dr. E. P. Childs, of Hugo, her brother, brought her here a month ago, when her condition became critical she was taken to the Paris Hospital.

Besides Dr. Childs, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. C. D. Atwell, Dayton, Ohio.[*Note--sister, Daisy Childs, was married to Charles T. Atwell]
