A service was held at Porter-Loring Chapel at San Antonio, after which the body was shipped by train to Cisco, and brought to Albany by Godfrey Funeral Home coach. The body remained at the Funeral Home until Sunday afternoon, when a graveside service was held in the Albany Cemetery. Burial was at the side of her husband. R. R. Yancy, who passed away in San Antonio June 25, 1953.
Mrs. Yancy was born Jan. 5m 1894, at Throckmorton, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gus Newcomb, pioneers of this area. Mr. Newcomb operated a ranch east of Albany for years, the Newcomb community being named for him.
Mrs. Yancy was married to R. R. Yancy June 20, 1925, and they resided in Albany before moving to San Antonio about 12 years ago.
She has been associated with her son in the fancy & McGee Advertising Agency in San Antonio.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
