Rites were Monday at 10 a.m. in the Mills Humphrey Funeral Chapel for Arthur William Putnam, 48, of 601 E. Electric, who died unexpectedly at his home last Saturday. He was born in McAlester and lived his entire life in the McAlester and Hartshorne areas. He was a construction worker before ill health forced his retirement 14 years ago. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of McAlester. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Lula Putnam, of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Frances Civey, St. Charles, Mo., Mrs. Betty Shorb, McAlester, and Mrs. Barbara DeTello of Krebs; two brothers, Calvin R. Putnam of Mesquite, Tex. and Frank Putnam of Hominy. Dr. Charles E. Myers officiated and burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery under direction of Chaney's Funeral Home.
