Mildred “Pete” Barnes, 92, of Mosheim, passed away Sunday evening. She was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Elmer “Stump” Barnes; one son: Bobby Barnes; daughter: Loretta Hale; parents: Keele and Ozelle Moore; three sisters: Zelma Smith of Ohio, Charlsie Barnes of Mosheim, Ruth Smith of Ohio; very special brother: William “Sam” Moore of Bulls Gap.

The family would like to thank Silver Angels for such great care. Special thanks to Debra Ramey, her caregiver, Rachel Dugger and Loretta Reed, Amedisys Home Health and Amedisys Hospice – Angie Wampler, Vicky Crigger, Freda Morgan, and Kathy Duncan.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Buster Shelton, the Rev. Jason Dean, and the Rev. Chris Howell officiating.

Family and friends are asked to meet at Doughty-Stevens at 1 p.m. Wednesday to go in procession to Philippi Cemetery for the 2 p.m. committal service.
