She was married to Roy Peterson for 52 years, who preceded her in death in 1994. Roy and Vi loved to travel, spending time in Sweden, China ND Europe. She had a map with dozens of red pins marking all the countries they visited.
After retirement, Vi and Roy moved to Florida, but visited New Hampshire frequently to see their grandchildren.
Violet always kept busy, whether it was knitting, crocheting, quilting, playing bridge or other games, Rummikub being one of her favorites. When her grandchildren, Anna, Kara and Ali, were young, long card games of Kings Corner were held at the kitchen tablet.
She was a lifelong Lutheran and was always active in the church community. When she moved up to New Hampshire, she still volunteered at Grace Lutheran Church, folding bulletins and organizing prayer groups at her living facility. At her living facility, she kept busy by organizing bridge gams, working in the little convenience store, baking muffins for friends, working with the outreach committee and entraining residents in the nursing facility.
She remained active until the last year and half of her very long life, but was able to meet her great grandchild, Sadie, whom she treasured as much as her grandchildren.
Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ellsworth, WI
