OBITUARY-
William C. Simmonds was born in Quincy, Ill. February 26, 1867, and died at the home of his son, C. V. Simmonds, Table Rock, Nebr. on April 18, 1932 aged 65 years, 1 month and 22 days, having suffered a stroke of paralysis three days previous from which he never entirely regained consciousness.
He came to Kansas in 1859 and on August 12, 1890, he was united in marriage to Alice Griffin, who died March 13, 1896. To this union three children were born, C. V. Simmonds of Table Rock; Mrs. Tom Guillians; Wamego, Kas.; Mrs. Glen Jamison of Reserve, Kas.;
He came to Nebraska in 1915 and was united in marriage to Anna Calhoun. To this union one son, Clifford, was born. All four children were at his bedside at the time of his death. He also leaves to mourn his departure two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Griffin, Hoyt, Kas.; Mrs. Ella Jones, Reserve, Kas; two brothers, George Simmonds, Reserve, Kas; and Ed Simmonds, White Cloud, Kas; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, besides a host of friends and acquaintances.
Sweet be thy rest and peaceful thy sleeping, father of mine, father of mine.
God's way is best, thou are in His keeping, father of mine, father of mine.
O blessed Sleep! Where His never molest thee, why should we weep
When Heaven has blest thee? Father of mine, father of mine.
Funeral services were held at the M. H. Irwin home at 2 o'clock by W. E. Caldwell of the Methodist church and interment was in the Table Rock cemetery.
