Marita N. Smith was born October 22, 1933 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Charles and Evelyn (Britton) Hill. She returned to her natural home February 17, 2017, she was 83 years old. Marita worked as an operator for Southwestern and Mountain Bells before starting a family, she returned to work once her children were grown as a PBX operator for Mercy Hospital where she retired twice.Marita found true joy singing in the choirs at Putnam City and Village Baptist Churches, working with children in Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She loved to travel and vacation with her family, but her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren grow.She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Donald D. Smith, three brothers Charles, Kenneth and David Hill, two sister in laws Betty and Mildred Hill. She is survived by her daughters Cynthia Smith of Oklahoma City, Traci and her husband Val Gokey of McLoud and grandchildren Jill and Sarah Gokey of Oklahoma City, Scott and Annie Gokey of Edmond, Matt Gokey of McLoud and Aaron Smith of McLoud. Two sister in laws Ojuieta Simmons of Anadarko and Sandy Hill of Tulsa and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed beyond words until we see her again. We want to thank Dr. Vicki Canfield and staff, Mercy Hospice, and Bellevue Health and Rehab for all the compassion and support they provided to our loved one and family. Viewing will be Tuesday, February 21, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home. Services will be held Wednesday, February 22, 10:00am at Mercer-Adams with interment at 2:00pm in Anadarko Cemetery, Anadarko, OK.
