Martha Burneice (Thomas) Tate, 95, of Bradford, passed from this life into eternity February 19, 2017 with her granddaughter, Detra Foster by her side. Martha was born February 18, 1922 in Judsonia to the late Lewis Thomas and Cora Davis Barber. She was a loving, caring, and devoted mother and grandmother and a very hard worker. Martha enjoyed going to yard sales and picking up pecans. She was a faithful Christian and a member of the Bald Knob Pentecostal Church. She loved the Lord’s Church, and her church family, but most of all she loved the Lord with all her heart. She was faithful in the Lord and put all of her trust in him.
She is survived by 4 daughters, Joyce Borowski (Richard), Brenda Middleton (Steve), Kathy Perryman and Barbara Johnson; 3 sons, Jimmy Ray (Lori), Bobby Tate, and Ed Nelson (Ruthann) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a husband, Glennie Tate; sons, Donald Nelson and Marvin Ray; granddaughters, Betty Sue Barnes and Anita Nelson; brothers, Buster and Raymond Thomas and a sister, Dorothy Thomas Bishop.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2017, at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob. Interment will follow in the Kensett Cemetery.
