Jane Gorden Peters, 73, of Greenville, passed away at home on Saturday, 18th day, of February 2017. She was born January 9, 1944 in Spottswood.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Murphy Peters; her two daughters, Lucinda Black and husband, Keith of Seymour, Tennessee and Gina Peters of Greenville; two grandchildren, Ashley Fish and husband, Joshua of Little Elm, Texas and Kristen Broce of Greenville; two step-grandchildren, Josh Black and Sarah Black of Seymour, Tennessee; three siblings, Bobby Gorden of Spottswood, Mary Helen Ayers of Waynesboro, and Tommy Gorden of Weyers Cave; a number of nieces and nephews, and special friends.

Pallbearers are Keith Black, Steve Brown, Kenny Earhart, Ernest Fitzgerald, Ken King, and Bobby Seaman.

The family wishes to express appreciation to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah for their care and personalized attention given on our behalf.

The family will receive friends at Middlebrook Church of God, 252 Middlebrook Road, Middlebrook, Virginia 24459, from 6:00-8:00pm, Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at the church, conducted by Pastor Larry Strickler. Interment will follow at 2:00pm in Green Hill Cemetery, 1 Overlook Drive, Buena Vista, Virginia 24416.
