A lifelong resident of Palatka, he was a nurse/service technician. He had previously worked with American Heritage Life Insurance Co. of Jacksonville. He attended the Church of God and the Church of God of Prophecy, both in Palatka.
He is survived by his parents, Virginia Hudson and Alvin Melton, both of Palatka; stepparents, Asa Hudson and Ann Melton, both of Palatka; brothers, Kenneth Melton of Kinston, N.C., Barry Melton and Travis Hudson, both of Palatka; sister, Pam Garrett of Jacksonville; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Mack Hill of Hollister, Mrs. Annie Thompson of Palatka and Vernie Hudson of Fort White.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka with the Revs. Luther Anderson, Henry Willis and Ray Willis officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill East Cemetery. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd 1 Dec 1993.)
