Sarah Jordan Matthews, 83, died peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2016. Sarah was born on April 24,1933 and grew up in Hartsville, SC. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 18 She graduated from Coker College in 1955 with a degree in Business Administration. She worked at Kline Iron and Steel and Columbia College before deciding to stay home and raise her family. Sarah was a loyal and faithful member of Harvest Baptist Church of Lugoff, SC. She loved her Lord and she loved the Clemson Tigers. She was a strong, independent, and sweet woman who was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Sarah was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Marion Matthews II, her son, Joseph Marion Matthews III, parents Carroll Thomas and Lillian Barfield Jordan, and brothers Sidney Albert Jordan, Ennis Barfield Jordan, Carroll Thomas Jordan II, and Joseph Hopkins Jordan.
