Elizabeth Una V Best Witt, age 92, entered peacefully into the presence of the Lord on February 16, 2017. She was a member of South Knoxville Baptist Church and JOY Sunday school class. She retired after 35 years with Dun & Bradstreet, where she worked in the Knoxville and Washington D.C. offices.

Preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Vernon Witt; father and mother, Rev. Oscar and Ella Mae Best; sisters, Jessie Ridge, Irene Borden, and June Best; brothers, Boyd, Sam, Ott, and John Best; son-in-law, Harold Dexter Jr. Survived by her daughters, Linda Witt and Debbie Dexter; grandson, Sean Dexter; step-granddaughters, Sonya Dexter and Christie Prouty; step-great-granddaughter, Chynna Turner; sister, Juanita Best Cagle; sisters-in-law, Elaine Witt and Waltzie Hartsell; and many special nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway Monday, February 20, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., with Dr. Glenn Sullivan officiating. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery for a 3:00 p.m. graveside service.
