May Sherman, 86, died Thursday, June 30, in J.J. Geriatric Center in Louisa after an extended illness.

Mrs. Sherman was born March 16, 1891 in Johnson County, the daughter of John Elliott and Susan James Conley. She was a resident of Paintsville and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

Her husband, Henry (Buck) Sherman preceded her in death in 1955.

Surviving are three sons, Cecil Sherman of West Van Lear, Clyde Sherman of Dade City, FL, and Charles O. Sherman of Mountain City, TN; two daughters, Charlotte (Polly) Robinson of West Van Lear and Christie B. Sherman of Dayton, OH.

Funeral services held Sunday, July 3, in the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Jams K. Caudill and Irvin Castle officiating.

Burial was in the Horne Cemetery at Staffordsville.
