Marcus graduated from Dixie High School in Due West in June 2010. He then attended Lander University in Greenwood where he received his bachelor’s degree in political science. While attending Lander, he interned on the Bernie Sanders campaign. Marcus was a strong advocate for the LGBT community. One of his goals in life was to return to New York and receive his master’s degree and start his own foundation for the LGBT movement.
Marcus was a strong young man who touched everyone he met. It was an honor to know him. He leaves to cherish his memories, his brother, Armond Ogburn, aunts, uncles, cousins, and most of all, his sisters/best friends, Eryan Cooper, Renee Cooper, Joanna Gilliespie, Kayla Frost, Reighanna Bailey, and Heather Dykes.
