Ernest was born to Doria Prince and Marie-Evangeline (Girouard) Decarolis.

Brother of Norman Armand Joseph Prince and Raymond George Prince

Ernest & Claire (Maguy) were married 1955 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. They had three children: Michael, Cheryl and another daughter.

From 16 May 1950 - 13 May 1955 Ernest served in the Navy.

Ernest was a member of the first deaconate class for the Worcester, MA Diocese. After ordination, he was assigned to St. Joseph's Church for five years, plus eleven years at St. Bernard's Church in Fitchburg.
