Sherry Lynn Allen, 60, Kokomo, passed away at 7:21 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2107, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born July 18, 1956, in Dalton, Georgia, to Wallace and Reva (Bond) Whited. On September 1, 2007, she married Curtis Allen, and he survives.

Sherry graduated from Garfield High School in Hamilton, Ohio in 1975. She worked for St. Vincent Hospital as a Tella Teck on the 4th floor for 13 years before retiring in 2013. She was a member of the Church of God of the Union Assembly where she served as a youth teacher. Her class made blankets for the Women’s Center.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her siblings, Linda Belvins, of Hamilton, Ohio, Sue (Dale) Trustee, of Seven Mile, Ohio, Don (Karen) Hughes, of Kokomo, and her twin brother, Terry (Diane) Whited, of Hamilton, Ohio, Mark (Gina) Pratt, of Hamilton Ohio; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Waylon and Lisa Hall and Rick and Andrea Biller; mother-in-law, Margie (Larry) Bales; sister-in-law, Tonya (Jerry) Eubanks; and aunt, Jackie Pratt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ginger Eleton; and father-in-law, Bobby Allen.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Church of God of the Union Assembly, 528 E. 400 S., Kokomo, with Pastors Ray Cooper and Darrell Akins officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
