Jackie "Jack" L. Stevens, 79, Marion, died at 10:20 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Hartford City to George and Dolleta "Dolly" Thelma (McDermitt) Stevens. On February 28, 1958, Jack married Becky Smithson, and she survives.

After high school graduation, Jack enlisted and served his country in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, he worked at Dana for 35 years until his retirement. He was a member of AMVets Post 5, and Jack loved to take care of his yard and work in his vegetable garden.

He is survived by Becky, his loving wife of nearly 59 years; daughter, Vicki E. Stevens, Marion; son, Thomas L. (Jan) Stevens, Deltona, Florida; grandchildren, Michael J. (Alicia) Stevens, Deltona, Sara E. Stevens, Deltona, Olivia R. Bush, Indianapolis, and Airianna Mitchell, Indianapolis; great-granddaughter, Arya Stevens; and sister, Patricia E. (Randy) Johnson, Hurst, Texas.

His son, Timothy L. Stevens, and brother, James L. Stevens, preceded him in death in addition to his parents.

Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City.

Jack's funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Steven Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
