Judith L. Price, 70, of Moosic, died peacefully Thursday at Hospice Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Her husband, Lyman Price, died on Feb. 16, 2010. They were married in 1970 in Bethlehem. After Lyman passed, Judy lived with her daughter, Lori and her family in Moosic. Judy cherished every moment she had with her grandchildren.

Born in Taylor, she was the daughter of the late JR F. Chester and Verna Goldsworthy Chester. Judy was raised in Taylor and was a graduate of Taylor-Moosic High School, class of 1964. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Taylor. She and her husband had owned and operated Lloyd Homes in Waverly for 38 years.

Judy loved to travel, especially to the destinations that had beach and an ocean. She enjoyed boating on Lake Wallenpaupack and spending time on the lake relaxing and enjoying life. She also enjoyed traveling to Vegas with her sister, Carol.

Judy was very passionate about her children and helping them achieve their goals. Lyman and Judy encouraged their children to work hard and pursue their dreams. They were proud of their accomplishments competing as equestrians and also cheered them on in track, basketball, cheer and whatever else they decided they wanted to pursue.

Judy loved her family, children, grandchildren and all animals. She could not imagine a home without a dog or a cat.

Surviving are three children and six grandchildren, Lori Edsall, Moosic, and children, Shane, Evan and Taylor; and son-in-law, Joseph Edsall, of Old Forge; Chip Price and children, Zachary, Madison and Robert, of Moosic; Beth Price, of Waymart; her devoted sister, Carol Miletta, of Greensburg, Pa.

Judy also loved her nieces and nephews, Ronald Miletta, Tony Gross, Robb Chester, Corey Chester, Cheryl Palmer and Jason Chester. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, JR and Verna Chester; her brother, Kenneth Chester; and her brother-in-law, Thomas Miletta.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Armando Sallavanti. He went above and beyond to treat Judy and her family with incredible care, empathy and kindness. They will be forever grateful.

A funeral service will be held Monday at 6 p.m. from the Jacob Davis Funeral Home, 422 S. Main St., Taylor, with services by the Rev. Eric Bergman, pastor at St. Thomas More Church, Dunmore.

Visitation will be Monday from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
