Barbara Jean (Harris) Whisenhunt entered the gates of heaven on February 15, 2017. She was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma on March 15, 1942 to Olen and Georgia Harris.

Upon her mother's death, she was raised by her Grandparents Homer and Lou Belle Jones. She was watched over by her family -sons, Mark, Mike, Shane, her sisters Judy Fife and Glenda Rutherford along with her loving companion of many years Ernie Canfield. Barbara was preceded in death by her husbands, Hubert O Humble and Jackie Wayne Whisenhunt and her daughter Nancy Christine.

Barbara graduated from Ponca City Schools. She furthered her education with a Master's of Science and Counseling at Oklahoma State University. She worked in La Junta, Colorado at Pioneer Health Care Center as an Assistant Administrator, State of Colorado as a Clinical Therapist and also had a private practice in Sterling, Colorado. She retired in 2005.

Barbara and Ernie moved to Theodosia, Missouri and built a new home. She enjoyed shopping at Branson, gardening, fishing, scrapbooking, reading how to educational books and loved her OSU Cowboys. In May of 2013, they moved to Sapulpa, Oklahoma to be closer to family. Barbara was a member of Solace Church.

She is survived by her loving companion Ernie Canfield, children Mark Sherron, Mike Sherron wife Darla, Shane Whisenhunt wife Jackie, Grandchildren Alan Sherron, Shelby Sherron, Justin Whisenhunt, Finn Landon Whisenhunt, Abby Camargo and one great grandson River Sherron. Stepsons Michael Whisenhunt and Jackie A. Whisenhunt. Sisters Judy Fife and Glenda Rutherford , Pat, Trudie, Winnie, Brothers Tim, Scott, Ricky, Step Mother Doris Harris and numerous nieces and nephews,

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church, 2313 East Prospect, Ponca City, Oklahoma. Pastor Chuck Burton officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Resthaven Cemtery.
