Jessie P. Medina, 88, of Texas City, Texas passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.

She was born in Beaumont, Texas and moved to Galveston where she married and raised six children. She is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Guadalupe Padilla; husband, Richard R. Medina; siblings, Paul Padilla, Frank Padilla, Don Padilla, Martin Padilla; daughter, Dorothy Ovalle and granddaughter, Monica C. Ruiz.

She is survived by daughters: Maria Solis (Michael), Cynthia Ruiz (Ricardo), Lupe Morales (Jacinto), Teresa Bessire (John) and son, Richard Medina, Jr.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, Texas 77591, 409-986-9900, with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM and burial to follow at Mount Olivet.
