Bruce Bennett was born in Dallas on May 15, 1949. He was then raised in Austin, Texas. He passed away at home in the early hours of September 4, 2015 due to his long battle with cancer. Bruce was always a very kind-hearted man, a loving husband, and a great friend. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 9, 2015 at 2:00pm at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Leander. Private family interment will be held in Dallas. Bruce was a graduate of Austin High School class of 1967 and Concordia University with a degree in Business Finance. He moved from Austin to Liberty Hill in 1975 where he truly felt at home in the country. He stayed there until moving to Lago Vista in 2014.

In 1988 he met the love of his life Mong Van Tieu at Motorola. Together they traveled the world seeing sites near and far. Bruce was always a very kind-hearted man, a loving husband, and a great friend. He had a passion for fishing, hunting, and bee keeping. Wildflowers and nature in general had a special place in his heart. History was another of his interest to the point where he could be his own tour guide at most of Texas landmarks.

He is preceded in death by his father O.V., his mother Gordon, sister Kerry, and brother Barte. He is survived by his wife Mong Van Tieu, sister-in-law, two nieces and several cousins. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 2:00pm at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Leander. Private family interment will be held in Dallas
