Lawrence A. Beck, age 82 of Chesterton, IN, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017.

He was born on November 21, 1934, in Chesterton to Harold and Esther (Turner) Beck.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eileen (Wozniak) Beck, daughters, Kathleen Sherrick of Valparaiso, IN, Lisa (Ken) Watts of Elkhart, IN, and Carol (John) Gregory of Ivey, GA; son, Douglas (Jackie) Beck of LaPorte, IN; brother-in-law, Don Werner of Michigan City, IN, and twelve grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Phillip Beck and sisters, Loretta Werner, Darlene Ammon and Marjorie Morton.

Lawrence was a volunteer firefighter for 41 years for the Pines Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as Chief for a period of time. He was an avid farmer and collected antique toy tractors. He belonged to Northern Indiana Power Association and loved watching the Chicago Cubs and Nascar. He was a loving father and grandfather.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN, 46304, with Pastor Scott Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Cemetery, Michigan City, IN.

Visitation will take place on Monday, February 20, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
