Elijah Burton Hampton, also known as Lige, was born on February 11, 1894 in Clay County, Kentucky to Lewis Hampton and Kesiah Gabbard.
He first married Wilhelmina Mussman around 1910 and divorced in 1940. To this union two children were born, Edward Lloyd Hampton and William Anthony Hampton.
He then married Edith Pearl. To this union two children were born, Jerry Hampton and Perry Hampton. They sadly passed very young.
Elijah passed away February of 1974 in Randolph, Indiana.
