Sgt. 1st Class Ronald Floyd Strickland, U.S. Army Retired, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017. 3:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at DFW National Cemetery. Born Nov. 19, 1946, he was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Strickland and Mary Sherman Wetzel. Survivors: Wife, Pam Strickland; three daughters, Katlin Strickland and adopted daughters, Debera Strickland Holstein and Linda Strickland; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Velma Ledesma, Reed Strickland, Connie Wheeler, half-sister, Teresa Andert, step-brother, Joe Welch Jr., Lynn Welch and step-sister Alice Stuart; ten nieces; eight nephews; and numerous great nieces, nephews and extended family.
