James Burleson, age 83, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017.

He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War from 1951 to 1954.

James was a founding member of First Baptist Church of Hampton Park for more than 50 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Burleson; children, Michael Burleson, Rannah Natoli and Timothy (Veronica) Burleson; sisters, Mildred Goforth, Jacquline Perrygin and Doris-Jo (Tony) Bowman; grandchildren, Heather (Felix) Soto, Roman (Karen) Natoli, Delena (Mark) Valadez, Rhiannon Burleson, Tiffany (Derek) Katz, Jacob (Rachel) Burleson, Nathan Burleson, Jesse (Austyn) Burleson, Jessica (Angel) Pena and Kayligh Christensen; great grandchildren, Felicia Soto, Kaiden Katz, Khloe Katz and Teagan Burleson; also numerous nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Bedford and Jessie Burleson; three brothers and two sisters.

Arrangements entrusted to Anderson Memorial Home, Crest Hill, Illinois.

Interment with military honors Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
