Sarah Margaret (Gum) Calvert, 89, of Oak Grove Mo passed away February 10, 2017 at The Groves in Independence Mo.  Born March 16, 1927 in Kansas City Mo to Orval and Melba Gum.  Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City Missouri, February 18th 2017.  Visitation at Park Lawn Funeral Home 12:00 to 1PM. Memorial service at 1:00pm.  Burial thereafter at Memorial Park Cemetery.
        She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years Bobby Lee Calvert.  Siblings: Wilda Baughman, Loran Gum, Jim Gum and Walter Gum.  Great Granddaughter: Toni Rogers.
        She is survived by her sister, Shirley Driver of Oak Grove, Mo.
Son: Richard Calvert (Sharry) of Blue Springs, Mo.  Daughter: Diana Kessler (Greg) of Lee’s Summit, Mo.  Sister-in-laws: Wanda Patterson, Pat Watson, Patty Robinson.  Grandchildren: Sherrie Rogers, Derek Poindexter (Kim), Danielle Hedlund, Tom Hedlund.  Great grandchildren: Caitlyn Poindexter, Sam Wise.  29 nieces and nephews.
        She graduated from Central High School. Sarah retired in 1987 from Bendix after 29 years of service.  She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Oak Grove.  Sarah was a devoted mother and enjoyed spending time with all her family.  She and Bobby loved to drive the back roads going to antique stores and collected many items especially elephants.  She will be missed by all but our memories of her will live on.  “Everyone Loved Momo”
        Thank you to all the nurses and staff at The Groves for their excellent care and compassion.  Thank you to Randy Messer for always being there for the family.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given in Sarah’s name to the American Diabetes Associations.
