Born February 23, 1945, in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Harry and Sarah (Spangler) Reese. Following his graduation from William Penn High School, in 1963, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he honorably served, for nearly four years, during the Vietnam War.
He was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in the Workers Compensation Office, for almost 20 years; prior to working for the Commonwealth, he worked at Ollie's Bargain Outlet.
He was a member of the West End Republican Club and the William Penn Club, NRA, as well as, the Marysville Sportsman Association. He was a Life Member of both the American Legion Post 1001, and VFW Post 148, where he served as a Past Commander. In his free time, he enjoyed going for drives, reading, listening to music, collecting various things and spending time with his friends.
Terry is survived by his daughter, Jean M. Swartz, and her husband, Terry, of Mifflintown; a brother – who was unquestionably his best friend – Harry Reese, and his wife, Betsy, of Marysville and a sister, Sandra Zimmerman, of Fairborn, OH. He is also survived by his grandchildren, John D. W. Reese, Tyler M. Brandt, Kaylin N. Brandt and Dalton L. Swartz, along with his great grandchildren, Madison and Ryder.
His Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday February 24, 2017 at the Neumyer Funeral Home, Inc., 1334 N. 2nd Street, Harrisburg, with Rev. Dr. Keith A. Blank, officiating. The family will receive friends and family on Thursday evening February 23, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., and again on Friday, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., prior to the service. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
