Services for Mr. Clyde L. “Buddy” Smalley III, 65 of Fort Necessity, LA will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Jigger, LA with Rev. Rex Barker, and Bro. Kent Nugent officiating. Interment will follow at the Turner Cemetery, in Fort Necessity, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro.

Buddy had a passion for horses. Riding, trading, training and boarding them. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and was the best husband, father, and grandfather that anyone could ask for. No matter where, no matter what, he kept his family together as a unit.
He prided himself on his preparedness, evidenced by always carrying a knife, a pen, and a handkerchief, a trait he tried to pass on to everyone he met. He loved his country, having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He traveled far and wide, spent parts of his life living in Kansas, Arkansas, and here in Louisiana, making lifelong friends every step of the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; Clyde and Sue Ellen Reames Smalley, brother Thomas Smalley, 3 sisters; Cindy Boatman, Lindsey Tallent, and Heather Smalley.

Survivors include: Wife of 33 years, Tammy Turner Smalley of Fort Necessity, sons; Clyde “Quad” Smalley IV and wife Stacy of Covington, LA., and Casey Smalley and wife Lauren, of West Monroe, LA., and daughter, Sara Campbell and husband Ricky Campbell, Jr., of Fort Necessity, LA. 6 Grandchildren; Zoey Campbell, Lexi Campbell, Crosby Smalley, Turner Smalley, John Ricky “Jock” Campbell III, and John Turner “J.T.” Smalley. 1 Brother, Daniel Smalley of Grantville, KS.

Pallbearers are: Michael Wells, Byron Turner, Paul Wade Turner, Scott Hayes, Anthony “A-Boy” Sturdivant, and Darwin Day.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Herbert Gene Robinson, Ronnie “Booger” Rollins, DeWayne Jones, and Roger Sims.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, February 17th at Shady Grove Baptist Church.
