Anna LaNette Story passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her husband and family on Saturday afternoon, December 3, 2016 at the age of 74.
Born on January 19, 1942 in Brownwood, TX to Everette Long and Zeola Martin Long both now deceased. LaNette will be remembered as someone who touched the lives of everyone she knew with her beautiful smile and loving and caring ways. She was a proud and devoted wife, mother, Nana, sister and friend to so many.
She was a strong and courageous lady; battling breast cancer 20 years ago and most recently ovarian in 2014. She stayed strong and positive each step of the way. She was a true fighter in every sense of the word.
One of her greatest joys was spending time with family. She made all holidays and get-togethers special with her many traditions and those will be truly missed but will carry on. She loved traveling and spending time with her sister. She enjoyed relaxing with her husband at her brother and sister-in-laws place in the country. There were many “girl days” spent with her daughter and granddaughters with shopping, getting nails done and enjoying lunch together. She enjoyed watching her grandsons play sports even though she had no clue about the sport. Having her grandchildren around and being a Nana brought her so much joy.
Those she left behind to cherish her wonderful memories are her loving husband of 54 years, Billy Joe Story (Santa Fe, Tx); daughter Sherrie Evans and husband Wade (Friendswood, Tx), son, Scott Story and wife Susan (Santa Fe, Tx); grandchildren, Tanner Atherton and wife Ashley, Cheyenne Emert and husband Rand, Cameron Evans, Preston and Corey Evans and Maegan Story; sister, Genia Mahaffey (Pasadena, Tx), brother, Martin Long and wife Gail (Friendswood, Tx); numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and loved ones.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:00pm., Wednesday, December 7th 2016 at Memorial Baptist Church, 6901 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, Texas. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Inurnment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery at a later date.
