Patricia Ann Avery Higgins Taylor of Wichita Falls, Texas passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the age of 86. Mrs. Taylor, a long-time resident of Wichita Falls, was born in Oklahoma City in 1928 to Adna Marion Avery and wife Ruby Opal Beal and moved in 1930 to Wichita Falls.

She and husband William B. Higgins built a business and reared two children until his death in 1967. After his death, Pat went back to college and earned her B.S. in Education and Master of Arts degrees at MSU.

While working on her degrees at MSU, Pat met and married Dr. Dencil R. Taylor. They spent 37 wonderful years together until his death in 2011. Together they traveled with his debate teams and to his speaking engagements.

Pat's career included serving as an Ombudsman and a Social Worker of Human Resources for the State of Texas. She retired from the Department of Human Resources, State of Texas. She often commented how much she loved her work helping senior citizens.

Beloved mother and grandmother, Mrs. Taylor along with her husband Dencil befriended many MSU students in the almost three decades he was on the MSU faculty. The last four years she spent in the loving care of Brookdale at Midwestern and Hospice of Wichita Falls where she continued to make many friends.

Left to cherish her memories are; son, Bill Higgins (Martha, Alexandria, La.); daughter, Marion Anson-Prchal (John, Wichita Falls); cherished grandson, Taylor Anson (Wichita Falls).

Services for Mrs. Taylor will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in Lunn's Colonial Chapel, Wichita Falls TX. Reverend Annie Laura Ray of Calvary United Methodist Church of Houston, Texas will conduct the services.
