Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the Sioux City funeral home. Arrangements in Idaho were under the direction of English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls.
Mrs. Newton was born Oct. 11, 1924, in Sioux City, the daughter of Hugh D. and Elizabeth M. (Diediker) Barr. She was raised in Sioux City.
She was married to Harry P. Newton on Nov. 7, 1942, in South Sioux City and was a homemaker. She moved to Post Falls five months ago from Sacramento, Calif.
She was a former member of the River City Anglers in Sioux City. She enjoyed boating, gardening, eating out, Sacramento Kings basketball and crafts.
Survivors include two sons, Robert H. Newton of Sioux City and William C. Newton of Corning, Calif.; two daughters and their husbands, Kay and Don Hamilton of Post Falls and Rose M. and John Perry of Antelope, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers; and a sister.
