Garry Var Porter, 81, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Wednesday February 15, 2017 at his farm in Central Valley. Garry was born on June 9, 1935 in Susanville, California to Var Niels and Forest Nielson Porter. He married Rula Prince on May 16, 1958 in the St. George Temple.

Garry is survived by his wife Rula, children; Rick (Stacy) Porter, Richfield; Brett Porter and Kathy Madsen, Central Valley; Kathy (Kendall) Cowley, Venice; and Troy (Wendi) Porter; St. George; 19 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren; brother, Jim (Sue) Porter, Richfield; brothers in law, Russell Black, Alma Jones

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Evyonne Black, Joy Jones.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday February 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m in the Central Valley 1st Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m or at the ward chapel Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Burial in the Annabella Cemetery.
