He was born July 21, 1934 in Havana IL, a son of the late Dwight and Dorothy Mowder Trent.
On April 28, 1962 he married Betty Flaiz at Maywood, IL.
Terry was a graduate of Eastern Illinois University, where he played football and tennis. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1958. He was employed by Wells Manufacturing, Mercury Marine, and the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Department. Following retirement he worked for the Fond du Lac Senior Services Department for 10 years. Everyone that knew Terry knows he was a dedicated and die-hard Wisconsin Badger Football fan. As a season ticket holder he spent many Saturdays cheering on his team. On Sundays he would be watching the Green Bay Packers, which is the reason he and his wife Betty moved to Wisconsin. He did not want to raise his family in Bear country. Terry enjoyed watching his grandsons play baseball. He spent many weeks at Door County golfing and enjoying the lake. He was also a member of, and served as an usher for, Holy Family Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Betty, a son Tom (Kim) Trent of Fond du Lac, one daughter Linda Trent of Madison, and five grandchildren, Trent Vossekuil, Kaitlin, Ryan, Allison and Megan Trent.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Beth.
Visitation: The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday February 18, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:45 PM at the Zacherl Funeral Home. Guests are encouraged to wear Badger or Packer clothing.
Services: A Liturgy of the Word will be held on Saturday 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
Memorials in his name may be directed to the Fond du Lac Humane Society.
