Hager Cox, age 95, died Saturday, September 8, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky. He was born in Wolfe County, Kentucky, on March 31, 1917, to the late Jefferson Davis and Anna Finch Cox. He was retired from the Carpenter’s Union and Boiler Maker Union. He had a great love for horses, bluegrass music and the mountains of Eastern Kentucky.

He is survived by: four daughters, Nancy Caywood, of Crestview Hills, Kentucky, Bonnie Cox Gaunce, of Versailles, Kentucky, Cindy Cox (Don) Gibbs, of Union, Kentucky, and Cynthia Cox (Jerry) Ruf, of Foster; five grandchildren, Robyn Caywood, Justin Knight, Christin Covey, Heidi Davis and Tyler Ruf; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Daisy Huntwork, of Union City, Indiana, and Wanda Brook, of Brooksville. He was preceded in death by: a daughter, Lillian Cox Cleaver; six brothers, Robert Cox, Ernie Cox, Buford Cox, Mack Cox, Bee Cox and Volney Cox; and five sisters, Beulah Cox, Inez Tolliver, Ethel Ross, Carrie Green and Pearl Buerkley.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Moore & Parker Funeral Home, in Brooksville. Burial will be at Mack Cemetery, in Frenchburg, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
