JONES, Mary Dean, age 89, Madison. Departed this life gracefully on June 6, 2009. Mary Dean was a Faithful Christian, a Loving Mother and Grandmother, as well as a dedicated and respected professional employee. She was born April 6, 1920, the daughter of Morgan W. Brown, Sr. and Minnie Belle Dean. She was a 1938 graduate of Gallatin High School and held an Associates Degree from Garrets Business School in Nashville. On December 12, 1944, she was united in marriage to Richard Lee Jones, Sr. who remained her faithful companion throughout all the years of their marriage. On July 23, 1959 she became the proud mother of son, Richard Lee Jones, Jr., on October 10, 1987 she became the proud mother to daughter-in-law, Beth Wilee Jones, and on May 31, 1995 she became the proud grandmother of grandson, Austin Lee Jones. Mary Dean was a life long member of the Jackson Park Church of Christ and was a longtime employee of the State of Tennessee where she was associated with several different Departments and Areas within the State Government, including the Department of Insurance and Banking, the House of Representatives, the 1965 Constitutional Convention, the Office of Local Government, and the Senate Clerks Office where she held the positions of Secretary to the Chief Clerk and Senate Bill Clerk until her retirement in 2005 after a total of 51 years of service. Mary Dean has been preceded in death by her parents, Morgan W. Brown, Sr. & Minnie Belle Dean; her husband, Richard Lee Jones, Sr.; her brother, Morgan W. Brown, Jr., and two of her sisters, Virginia Bennett & Peggy Myers. Mary Dean is survived by her son, Richard Lee Jones, Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Beth Wilee Jones; her grandson, Austin Lee Jones; her sister, Marie Martin, and two of her brothers, William (Bill) Farley & James (Conway) Farley along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation with her family will be at the Phillips & Robinson Funeral Home Monday, June 8 from 12-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the Funeral Service which will be conducted at the Phillips & Robinson Chapel Tuesday June 9, 2009 at 10 a.m. with her Minister Jim Olive officiating. Ray Bennett, John Bennett, Danny Bennett, James Farley, Richard Farley, John Farley, Austin Jones and Tom Herrod will serve as Pallbearers. Interment will be at Spring Hill Cemetery, Madison, TN. Mary Dean's family would like to thank her Physicians along with the Entire Staff of the Jackson Park Christian Home for the loving care and attention that they extended to her.
