He was born June 30, 1929 in Houston, MO, son of Luther and Clarsia Bell Marr Johnson and graduated from Houston High School in 1947 and attended several classes at Hawkeye Community College.
Bob married LaVonne M. Petersen on July 29, 1950 at the Fredsville Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls.
He began his construction career in 1948. He owned and operated Johnson Construction Painting, Papering and Home Decorating from 1963 to 1995. Then he worked as the Hudson building inspector from 1995 to 2007.
Bob joined the Ozark Baptist Church in Missouri at a young age and then became a member of the Community Church of Hudson. Bob loved to fish and enjoyed having annual fish fries for over 150 family members.
He is survived by his wife, LaVonne of Reinbeck; daughter, Charmaine Kramer of Waterloo, IA; daughter, Cynthia (Bruce) Angle of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Curtis Johnson of Tama, IA; son, Christopher (Inga) Johnson of Marshfield, WI; 4 granddaughters: Sarah (Dave) Path, Katie Johnson, Emma Johnson, and Mollie Johnson; 2 great grandchildren, Devin and Grayson Path; brother, James (Ola Mae) Marr of Biloxi, MS; brother, Frank (Judith) Johnson of Monroe, WA; sister, Lena Harrell of Panama City, FL; and a sister, Ruth (James) Roberts of Ozark, MO.
Bob is preceded by his parents, grandson, Luke, son in law, Ken Kramer and his sister and brother in law, Marjorie and Rhea Lybyer,
