Frank Dominic DiCesare Portage Frank Dominic DiCesare, age 81 of Portage, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2004 from a lingering illness. He was born on August 17, 1923 in Toluca, IL. On May 31, 1947, he married Audrey (Rickie) Shaffer. Mr. DiCesare was a World War II Veteran of the Pacific Campaign serving with the U.S. Coast Guard as a 2nd Class Petty Officer, working as a radio-man aboard various support ships. He was a retired supervisor from Western Cold Drawn Steel where he worked for approximately 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Nunzia DiCesare. He is survived by his wife, Audrey (Rickie); three sons, Dom (Linda) DiCesare, John DiCesare and Jeff (Laura) DiCesare, all of Portage; three grandchildren, Dominee (Shane) Kaiser of Chesterton, Tony DiCesare of Lake Station and Brandi DiCesare of Valparaiso; two great-granddaughters, Ashley DiCesare and Sarah Kaiser; two sisters, Nora (Mike) Podunovich of Valparaiso and Ida (Evert) Hillblom of Portage; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Frank was known for his love of woodworking, golf and bowling, but mostly he was known for the love that he had for his family. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 18, 2004 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Engel Funeral Home, 2700 Willowcreek Road, Portage. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 19, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will terminate at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the family.
