Mrs. Anita L. Cooper, 96, of Beans Cove Road, Clearville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at Pennknoll Village.
Mrs. Cooper was born in Keyser, W.Va., on Dec. 14, 1920, the daughter of the late William and Edna (Bell) Barr.
She is survived by daughter, Donna Poe, of Sanford, Fla.; daughter, Sandra, wife of Wilber Shenk, of Shippensburg; son, David Cooper, Chaneysville; son, Allen Cooper Jr., husband of Joy (Teeter) Cooper, of Clearville; and daughter, Karen Deremer, of Tyrone. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Susan J. Cooper and Sharon P. Ickes; her granddaughter, Bedford; and her sisters, Janette Miller and Patricia Walters.
Anita was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Osterburg. She was a homemaker and volunteered for many years at the Bedford Memorial Hospital. Anita enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing Scrabble with her family. She was a woman of great Faith and read at least 16 pages of her Bible daily along with a Proverb. Anita was a loving and kind mother, grandmother, aunt and friend and she will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held at Faith Baptist Church, Osterburg, at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, with Pastor James West officiating.
Friends are invited to call on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church in Osterburg. Interment will be held at the Cooper Family Farm Cemetery, Chaneysville.
