Josephine L. (Crites) Harmon, age 92, of Olney, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Burgin Manor in Olney.

Graveside service will be held Friday, February 17, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Eureka Cemetery south of Claremont.

She was born on October 14, 1924 in Richland County, the daughter of Clarence and Ada Sweet (Madden) Crites. She married Lowell Harmon on December 5, 1942. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1945.

She worked as an associate at the Shoe Factory in Olney and in the cafeteria at Richland Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Eureka Church of Christ. She also was a member of the Olney VFW and the American Legion. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Josephine is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Harmon; parents, Clarence and Ada Crites; 5 sisters, Lela Gardner, Innes Crites, Juanita Strange, Verna Crites, and Lucy Craig; and 6 brothers, Charlie, Carl, Joy, Lee, Noble, and Harry Crites.

Memorials can be sent to Eureka Cemetery Fund at 2992 N. Wood River Rd, Olney, IL 62450, in memory of Josephine Harmon.
