Michael Eugene Lovell, 43, of San Diego, California, formerly of Pratt, went to be with the Lord peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at his home in San Diego. He was born October 2, 1973 in Pratt, Kansas the son of Pam (Eldon) Webb and Kenny Lovell all of Pratt.
Mike loved spending time with his loving nephew Wyatt Lovell and Loving niece Addison Lovell. Mike spent a lot of time on his computer and texting to students around the world helping them with their English and witnessing to them. He would explain about his God and sent them Christian music and one student bought a bible because of his witnessing to them. In 1994 he joined the United States Navy. After boot camp he was stationed on the ship USS Boxer LHD 4. They were stationed outside of Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War. He worked in the computer department. He would invent viruses and send them to the other side of the ship. They would do the same thing and Mike would invent virus protectors and it was like a competition between the two departments. After his stint on the ship, he was stationed in San Diego, California and worked at the Balboa Naval Hospital in the computer department. He updated their computers and installed virus protectors. He was very good at it. In 1997 he was diagnosed with cancer. He went through extensive radiation and chemotherapy. His cousin, Terry Hennessee, is in Army Special Forces and they would banter back and forth about which was better the Army or Navy.
He is survived by his parents; grandmother, Charlene Allmon; his brother, Chris (Amanda) Lovell; loving nephew, Wyatt Lovell; loving niece, Addison Lovell; step sisters, Molly Webb and Julie (Randy) Brown; Aunts, Barb (Bob Cline), Debbie (Miguel) Sullivan, Susan (Ron) Burns, Nikki (Allen) Jarboe, Sherrie (Richard) Gossett and Judy Lovell; and Uncle Bob (Vickie) Lovell.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Pauline Lovell and Bill Sullivan.
