In January 1920 Carl Mcclellan Deleeuw (8 months old, born in Utah), his father Hiett Deleeuw (39, Holland, farmer), mother Zelma Virtue M (24, Utah), their son and his paternal grandmother Mattie (63, Holland, widow) were living on their own farm in Bicknell, Wayne County, located in the south-central part of Utah.

In April 1930 Carl M Deleeuw (10), his father Hiet Deleeuw (49, farmer), mother wife Zilma V (34), and sister Carma (5, Utah) were still living on their own farm in Bicknell, Wayne County, Utah

In 1935 his father Hiet DeLeeuw sold his farm and moved to Spanish Fork, Utah County, located in the north-central part of Utah.

In April 1940 Carl (20, farm laborer), his father Hiet Deleeuw (59, laborer at Works Progress Administration (WPA) projects), mother Zelma (44, belt worker at a canning factory), and sister Carma (15, Utah) were living in their own house, worth $1700, in Ward 2 of Spanish Fork, Utah County, Utah. They lived in 1935 in Ephraim, Sanpete County, Utah.

On November 12, 1940 private Carl M De Leeuw was enlisted in the US Air Corps. He studied four years at high school and was a semiskilled mechanic and repairman of motor vehicles.

He was employed by United Airlines in 1945 and enjoyed there a 34 year career as a pilot flying out of Idlewild (JFK, New York), O'hare (Chicago) and then Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). He flew over the whole world and retired as a captain.

He became active in the CBI Veteran Association and National Commander in 1987 and 1988.

He married the seven years younger Amelia Beth Wood, who was born March 30, 1912 in Plainview, Hale County, Texas. She was previously married to Clair Jude Westcott (1910 Idaho - 1997 Idaho).

On August 29, 1947 their daughter Carla DeLeeuw was born in Cheyenne, Laramie County, Wyoming. She died on June 1, 1975.

In 1954 he divorced from Amelia. She died on November 20, 1992 in Boise, Ada County, Idaho.

His place of residence was later on Palos Verdes Estates, Los Angeles County, California. Carl also owned a condo in Park City, Summit County, Utah.

Carl McClellan DeLeeuw died in January 2007 at the age of 86 years in Palos Verdes Peninsula, Los Angeles County, California. His cemetery was unknown in 2012 and 2017; according to his obituary he looks to have been buried in Park City, Summit County, Utah, but no trace found there or elsewhere. Cremated?
