Talmadge Monra “Tim” Kinney, age 69 of Statesville passed away, Monday February 13, 2017 at his home. He was born April 20, 1947 in Guilford County to the late Gilmer William Kinney and Maude Luvene Rich Kinney.

Mr. Kinney attended the University of Wisconsin where he received his Masters Degree in Social Work.

He retired as a counselor at TriCounty Mental Health. After his retirement he was a self-employed house mover.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Stratford Darnell Kinney and Gilmer Eugene Kinney; a sister, Ramona Kinney; and a granddaughter, Grace Dixon.

He is survived by his wife, Joni Susan Prohaska Kinney of the home; a son, Daniel Johnson; six daughters, Natasha Austin and husband Matt, Sarah Huffman and husband Joshua, Adrianne Johnson, Angel Johnson, Courtney Nishimoto and husband Michael, Devon Dixon and husband Charles; a brother, Dennis Darcel Kinney and wife Nancy of Greensboro; ten grandchildren: Smith Austin, David Austin, Raegan Dixon, Taylor Dixon, Isaiah Dixon, Brandon Draughn, Abby Draughn, Dalton Huffman, Zoe Huffman, and Asher Frisbee.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Friday February 17, 2017 at the Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. Archie "A.K" Loyd and Rev. David T. Martin will officiate. Burial will follow at his residence 5086 Wilkesboro Hwy, Statesville. The family will receive friends from 6:00– 8:00pm Thursday evening at Chapman Funeral Home.
