Carl R. "Skip" Rumpf, 84, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017 at home.

Born on December 23, 1932 in Pine Grove, he was a son of the late George and Mabel Knapp Rumpf.

He was a 1951 graduate of Tremont High School and a member of Manbeck's Church, Schuylkill Haven. Skip was also a member of the Pine Grove Community Band.

He was a Corporal in the Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He received the Good Conduct Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and Meritorious Unit Citation. Skip worked as a bricklayer for Eshbach Brothers in Reading.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Betty J. Koch Rumpf; two daughters, Cindy L. Keller of Lebanon and Christine K. Hardenstine of Pine Grove; a son, Carey C. Rumpf of Downingtown; six grandchildren, Kristopher M Keller, Rory S. Hardenstine, Kimberly A Keller, Royale S Hardenstine, Carly A. Rumpf and Madison L Rumpf; two sisters, Shirley Lehman and Grace Rumpf, both of Pine Grove; two brothers, Robert Rumpf of Minersville and Paul Rumpf of Pine Grove; nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were three sisters, June Strausser, Anna Allison, and Josephine Smolkis.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove, with Pastor Norm Dixon officiating. There will be a viewing on Thursday, February 16, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Manbeck's Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.
