Laura "Marie" Cain took the hand of the Lord and He led her Home on February 5, 2017. Born to William Lonzo and Bessie Mae Wolf, October 28, 1923 in Denton, Texas, Marie later moved to Albuquerque NM with her parents and siblings. She graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1941 and shortly after began her adult life working as a telephone operator in Pasadena, CA.

After two previous marriages and the birth of 6 children, Marie met Frank Louis Cain and married June 30, 1955 in San Francisco, then moved to Petaluma in 1957. In 1959 the Navy moved the family, with the addition of 2 more children, to Port Hueneme, CA. In 1964 the family moved to Oxnard, CA after the birth of child number 9, where Marie and Frank have continued to reside.

Marie leaves behind her husband Frank Louis Cain of Oxnard, CA; sisters Billie Wright of Peoria, AZ, Josephine Harris of Phoenix, AZ, Evelyn Hobbs of Phoenix, AZ, Autovee Wolf of Phoenix, AZ and Jeannette Hobbs of Peoria, AZ; daughters Linda Calvert (Glenn) of Nampa, ID, Juanita Booth (Sid) of Clarkston, WA and Benay Cain (Beth Schebler) of Oxnard, CA; sons John "Ron" George of Moore, ID, Don Cain (Carolyn) of Moore, ID, Jerry George of Meiners Oak, CA, Perry George of Moore, ID, Frank Leroy Cain (Debbie) of Escondido, CA and William "Bill" Cain (Cindy) of Gobles, MI; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Marie retired in 1980 after 25 years of Department of Defense, U.S. Navy, Civil Service at the Civil Engineer Support Office now known as Naval Facilities Expeditionary and Engineering Warfare Center (NAVFAC EXWC) in Port Hueneme, CA, as a Supervisory Cataloger.

She loved volunteering her time working with the pastor of Emanuel Lutheran Church of Santa Paula to create and assemble the weekly church bulletins and monthly newsletters.

Marie was well known for her fudge and divinity that she loved to make and give out to the neighbors, friends, and family. She also enjoyed reading and working fill-in puzzles. She took pride in keeping herself active and did her best to go to Cardio Rehab twice a week at St John's Regional Hospital until her recent health issues would no longer make this possible.

Special thank you from the family goes out to the wonderful Assisted Health Care Hospice Team, who were always so caring and supportive of not only our loved one, but to the family as well.
