McColley Funeral Home records of Lead state that Elizabeth Jane Watt died at the Lawrence County Hospital on August 3, 1951 at 6:00 a.m. at the age of 81 years 3 months; born in New Jersey on June 30, 1870; certifying physician – Dr. Howe.

Mrs. Elizabeth Watt Dies At Gayville Today
Mrs. Elizabeth Watt, 81, died this morning at the Lawrence County Hospital at Gayville after a period of failing health.
She was born on June 30, 1879 in New Jersey, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hodges.
She is survived by a son Tom Watt, Lead, two daughters Mrs. Ed Cocking and Pearl Watt, Mt. Clemens, Mich., and several sisters.
Funeral services have not been announced. The body is at the McColley Funeral Home in Lead.

Services Today For Mrs. E. Watt
Last rites for Mrs. Elizabeth Watt, who died at the Lawrence county hospital at Gayville Friday, were conducted at 3:30 this afternoon at McColley Funeral Home by the Reverend J. Harley Thompson of the First Methodist Church.
Mrs. Watt was 81 years old on the Monday before her death. She was born July 30, 1870, to Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Hodge in New Jersey.
The family moved to the Black Hills in 1888 and Elizabeth Jane Hodge was married the following year to Joseph E. Watt. He died in January 1925.
The couple had ten children, four of whom survive. They are Thomas J. Watt, Lead; Mrs. E.J. Cocking and Pearl Watt, Mt. Clemens, Mich., and James Watt on the West Coast. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren are also surviving.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Joe Keffeler, George Julius, Ruben Clement, Jack Radovich, Mike Milos and Frank Matulovich Jr.
She was buried in the family plot in the South Lead cemetery.

Pearl Watt, Mt. Clemens, Mich., is visiting at the home of her brother Thomas Watt and family. She came to attend the funeral of her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Watt, on Wednesday.
