Eleanor J. (Spurley) Landis, 95 of York, passed away peacefully at SpiriTrust Lutheran Village at Sprenkle Drive.

She was born in Red Lion on August 16, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Peter and Mabel (Warner) Spurley.

Eleanor was a cook for the Rutter’s Restaurant, previously known as Warner’s Dairy. Prior to working as a cook she worked in a local cigar factory.

She attended Red Lion Bible Church.

Eleanor enjoyed playing games, especially Ningo and Uno.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Norbert Landis.

Eleanor is survived by her daughter: Ione Groff and her husband Joseph of Red Lion; her sons: Eric S. Landis and his wife Julie of Haddonfield, New Jersey, Craig S. Landis and his wife Beverly of Windsor, Mark S. Landis and his wife Sharon of Red Lion, Scott S. Landis and his wife Angie of Red Lion, and, Alec S. Landis of York; her eight grandchildren; and, her seven great-grandchildren.

A private burial service will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens at the convenience of the family.
