Mrs. Adams was a graduate of John Nichols High School in Oxford and of East Carolina University. She taught school for 30 years, 21 of which were at John Nichols School on the former Oxford Orphanage Campus.
She was a member of Oxford Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. After she moved to Athens, Georgia to live with her daughter, she attended Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Adams is survived by a daughter, Dr. Elizabeth A. St. Pierre and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside ceremony will be conducted by Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford, NC at a date to be determined.
