Virginia Evangeline Brown Spence, 86, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, February 11, 2017 in Pensacola, FL.

She was born in Albany, GA to the late Louis John Brown and Gianoula Pappazacharia Brown who migrated to the United States from Trikala, Greece. Virginia was raised in Newnan, GA where she attended Newnan High School graduating in 1946. Then she went on to receive a degree attending LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA. She met and married the love of her life, the late William E. Spence from LaGrange, GA. They moved to Pensacola in 1955 and shared 62 years of marriage. Virginia worked for the late Rollin D. Davis Jr. of the Shell, Fleming, Davis & Menge Law Firm, where she retired from in 2001. She was a sports enthusiast, loved taking her family to the beach and going for long walks.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Gianoula Brown; sister, Mary Robin Brown Vidaurri; brother, John Louis Brown of Newnan, GA and husband, William Eldred Spence.

She is survived by her sister, Kathryn Georgia Brown of Los Angeles, CA; daughter, Lisa Spence; son, Michael Spence (Suzanne Scheinholtz); their children, Kathryn and Linzy Spence; son, Tracy Spence (Stacey Rosenbleeth); their children, Madison and Adam Spence, all from Pensacola, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 5-7 pm Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 10:00am Friday, February 17, 2017 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank those wonderful caretakers who kept her safe, smiling, laughing and comfortable for so long, especially Robin Norris and all of her caregivers.
