YORK Philip R. "Red" Noel, 75, of York Township, died at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday at York Hospital. He was the husband of Raenelda L. (Mitchell) Noel.

The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, 1000 S. Queen St., York. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Baumeister, Orcutt & Small Mortuaries Inc., South Queen and Jackson streets, York.

Mr. Noel was born Nov. 8, 1918, in Fallen Timber, Cambria County. He was the son of the late Philip R. and Gertrude (Shoff) Noel.

He retired in 1981 from Allis Chalmers Corp. He was affiliated with First Baptist Church and was a member of Red Lion American Legion Post 543 and the 25-Year Club of Allis Chalmers. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations.

Mr. Noel also is survived by a son, Kerry P. Noel of York; a daughter, Cynthia N. Ushler of Hatfield; three grandchildren; two brothers, Herbert Noel of Altoona, and Harold Noel of Duncansville; and four sisters, Marjorie Walters of Everett, Wash., Georgia Lidwell of Altoona, Lois Rafferty of Lincoln, Neb., and Thelma McKee of Bowie, Md.

Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Blake E. Edwards, pastor of First Baptist Church.
