OBIT: "Patricia R. King, 74, of Lincoln, passed away on Monday Sept. 22, 2014. Patricia was born on March 21, 1940 in Lincoln to Vernon and Aileen (Leake) Madden. Patricia graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School. Patricia was married to George R. King at Ft. Benning, Ga. Patricia was employed as a bookkeeper during the majority of her life and was most recently the treasurer at Crestwood Christian Church, where she was a longtime member. Patricia enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Lincoln Quilters Guild as well as the Faded Blossoms and Basket Cases quilting groups Patricia also enjoyed studying her genealogy and connected with many distant family members. Patricia especially enjoyed attending Nebraska Women's basketball games. Patricia is survived by her husband of 55 years, George R. King of Lincoln. Children: Lynn Ford of Lincoln, David King of Boulder, Colo., Elizabeth Turhal of San Francisco, and Danial King of Aurora, Colo. Grandchildren: Austin (Dayna) Ford of College Station, Texas, Ashley Ford of San Diego, and Secelia Garrett-King of Boulder, Colo. Great grandchildren: Ella Ford and JohnHenry Ford both of College Station, Texas. Sister, Marlys (Gary) Bishop of Omaha; and niece, Kara Bishop of Corona Del Mar, Calif. Cremation with no visitation. Celebration of life: 11 a.m. on Oct. 6, at Crestwood Christian Church, 8000 A Street, Lincoln, with Pastor Hollie Schmidt officiating. Memorials to Crestwood Christian Church Foundation or to the family."
